Teacher of Maths
Location: North Yorkshire

Contract: Short-term cover
Pay Scale: £32,916 - £51,048 per annum
GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Maths Teacher to join a coastal secondary school in North Yorkshire, on a short-term basis to provide paternity cover. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons in Mathematics to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, helping maintain continuity of learning during the existing teacher's absence.

• The school is a non-selective, mixed secondary academy serving pupils aged 11-16. It prides itself on offering a broad, knowledge-rich and well-structured curriculum designed to help each student reach their potential.
• Its ethos emphasises personal development, ambition, respect and a "can-do" attitude - encouraging students to "be the best you can be."
• Class sizes are modest (around 22-23 pupils on average), enabling greater teacher-student interaction and allowing for tailored support when needed.
Teacher Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Strong subject knowledge and competence in teaching Mathematics to KS3 and KS4
Ability to deliver differentiated lessons catering for a range of abilities
Effective classroom management and good communication skills
Flexibility to adapt to a new environment and step in quickly
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
Teacher Responsibilities
Deliver planned Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 with clarity and enthusiasm
Support pupils' learning, confidence and progress through effective differentiation and feedback
Maintain a safe, supportive and purposeful classroom environment
Collaborate with the Maths department and school staff to ensure continuity of teaching and learning
Monitor pupil progress, manage behaviour in line with school policy, and contribute to student welfare and support where needed
