Are you an experienced and motivated professional with a strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). We are looking for a skilled DoLS Team Leader to provide operational leadership, professional supervision, and strategic oversight to our dedicated team.
This is a pivotal role in ensuring that our statutory responsibilities are met, performance targets are achieved, and the rights of vulnerable adults are protected. You will lead on quality assurance, manage risk, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and direction to the DoLS team, ensuring timely and legally compliant assessments.
* Supervise and support Best Interest Assessors and Senior Practitioners.
* Monitor performance and quality standards, using data to drive improvement.
* Oversee complex casework and ensure robust risk management.
* Liaise with internal and external partners to promote effective DoLS practice.
* Ensure the service is prepared for legal scrutiny, including potential damages via the Court of Protection.
* Participate in regional DoLS forums and chair meetings whenever necessary.
* Manage conflict constructively to achieve positive outcomes for individuals, teams, and the wider service.
What We're Looking For
* A qualified social worker or equivalent professional.
* In-depth knowledge of DoLS, the Mental Capacity Act
* Proven leadership and supervision skills.
* Strong analytical, organisational, and communication abilities
