Residential Conveyancer, Full-time
A highly regarded law firm with a strong presence across the North West is seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join their dynamic and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, client-focused firm that combines traditional legal service values with a modern approach.
The successful candidate will handle a full residential conveyancing caseload independently while also working as part of a collaborative department. Youll be the main point of contact for clients and third parties and will play a key role in ensuring high standards of service and client care throughout the transaction process.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the primary contact for clients in the absence of the Head of Department
* Build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders
* Handle a full caseload of residential conveyancing files, including:
o Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
o Remortgages, transfers of equity, new builds, Help to Buy, Right to Buy, and shared ownership
* Prepare and manage correspondence, contracts, and legal documentation
* Draft completion statements, redemption statements, SDLT forms, and Land Registry applications
* Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage brokers, and other third parties
* Take client instructions, prepare contracts, raise and respond to enquiries, examine title, and report on search results and mortgage offers
* Attend to exchange, completion, and registration
* Assist with business development and contribute to the growth of the conveyancing team
* Support the Head of Department and senior colleagues with case management and general legal procedures
* Maintain accurate file records, documentation, and case progression via the firms case management system
Essential Skills & Experience
* A strong understanding of the residential conveyancing process and technical title issues
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Proficient typing ability and strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word
* Ability to manage and progress files independently
* High level of attention to detail and client care
* Proactive and professional approach with the ability to work well under pressure
Desirable
* A minimum of 4 years experience handling residential conveyancing files
* A positive, team-oriented attitude with self-motivation and reliability
* Experience using legal case management systems
* Strong interpersonal skills and commercial awareness
* Committed to maintaining client confidentiality at all times
