Deputy Manager – Residential Care Home Location: Newquay Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: Immediate – Must have an up-to-date DBS on the Update Service We are working with a dedicated care provider to recruit an experienced Deputy Manager to support their residential care setting. The Role As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to oversee the daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and providing exceptional care. Key responsibilities include: * Supporting the Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. * Supervising and guiding care staff, providing training and ongoing support. * Developing and reviewing individual care plans to ensure person-centred care. * Managing medication administration and ensuring adherence to protocols. * Monitoring resident wellbeing and promptly addressing any concerns. * Writing care plans and conducting audits, including medication audits. * Assisting with recruitment, training, and performance management of staff. * Promoting a positive environment that values dignity, respect, and high-quality care. Requirements * Experience in a Senior Care or Deputy Manager role within a residential care setting. * Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team. * Knowledge of medication administration and care plan development. * Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. * An up-to-date DBS on the Update Service is essential. * Flexibility to work across shifts, including weekends. * A valid UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
