The Role
* Managing the daily operations of the school library and learning resource centre
* Developing and maintaining a diverse, high-quality collection of physical and digital resources
* Supporting pupils and staff with research skills, digital literacy, and academic referencing
* Leading literacy initiatives, including reading groups, author visits, and Book Week events
* Managing the library budget and supervising student librarians or volunteers
* Creating an inclusive, welcoming, and purposeful environment for independent study
* Collaborating with department heads to ensure resources align with curriculum requirements
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* A degree or professional qualification in Librarianship or Information Management (CILIP recognised preferred)
* Previous experience working in a library or educational environment
* Strong ICT skills and experience with Library Management Systems (LMS)
* A genuine passion for promoting literacy and supporting young people’s learning
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage pupils of all abilities
* A proactive, organised, and creative approach to resource management
