Information Security Operations Manager
One of the UK’s leading providers of critical infrastructure for trade requires a SecOps Manager.
To lead the operations activities of the Information Security team, ensuring the highest quality protections are delivered to the business, whilst administering, prioritising, monitoring, and conducting business-as-usual Computer Security, Information Security, and Cyber Security activities in line with the technical and business strategy and with Information Security industry best practices.
Assisting the Information Security Lead, constantly reviewing and improving the business’ Cyber Security posture to meet compliance requirements with relevant standards or legislation. Reliably reporting on defence and initiative performance and driving best practices. Contributing to the development of the business’ long-term Information Security strategy.
Responsibilities include:
* Develop and support the Information Security team in the DevSecOps field.
* Assist with the development and support of DevSecOps practices.
* Manage the day-to-day relationship with security partners.
* Participate in internal management and governance forums, promoting cybersecurity best practices across IT and the business.
* Deputise for the Information Security Lead when required, including in the technical response to security incidents.
* Maintain, review, test, and implement security operations technologies such as antivirus, data encryption, cloud, and other security measures.
* Maintain and improve procedures, documentation, and relationships with internal operations teams, ensuring effective communication and escalation channels.
* Report overall security status and highlight specific systems as needed.
* Provide evidence for security audits and help determine root causes of security incidents.
* Recommend appropriate tools and countermeasures.
* Perform risk assessments and system testing to identify prime risks and limitations affecting security.
* Maintain security procedures with outside vendors.
* Assist other technology teams in reviewing and testing disaster recovery plans.
* Keep security knowledge current to understand the latest threats and incidents and maintain strong defenses.
* Work well independently or as part of a team.
* Meet deadlines and budgets effectively.
Key skills:
* Current industry-recognized security qualification (e.g., Microsoft certifications, CISMP, CEH, etc.).
* Experience in security operations.
* IT technical background.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to communicate and guide staff at all levels.
* Independence and a strong drive to achieve objectives and deliver on time.
* Willingness to travel to ports and sites for projects and general purposes.
* Strong belief in customer service, openness, honesty, teamwork, and respect, with a drive to make a difference and exceed expectations.
* At least 2 years of experience in an infrastructure role with security tools.
* Knowledge of ISMS, NIS Regulations, GDPR, and ITIL.
* In-depth experience with MS cloud technologies such as Intune, Defender suite, Azure, Entra.
