Our Role
We are keen to hear from individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality building and infrastructure management, who can lead with confidence and collaborate effectively across teams. As Building Manager at the Reay Forest Estate, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the construction, maintenance, and compliance of estate properties, ensuring all works are delivered to the highest standards, on time and within budget.
You will lead the maintenance team and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and local authorities to deliver a robust pipeline of projects. From planning and executing refurbishment works to managing compliance with CDM regulations and environmental standards, your role will be central to the estates operational success.
You will also be responsible for developing and managing budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions, and maintaining accurate records through property management systems such as Qube, Stock Condition, and C365. Your leadership will ensure that all estate buildings remain safe, functional, and aligned with strategic estate goals.
Key responsibilities include managing the estates maintenance and refurbishment programme, supervising the maintenance team, ensuring compliance with all statutory inspections and servicing, and contributing to the estates long-term planning as part of the leadership team. You will also liaise with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and uphold the estates values of integrity, trust, and respect.
Candidates should bring a strong background in construction or civil engineering, ideally with professional accreditation (e.g. RICS, CIOB, APM), and a minimum of five years experience in construction management. Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and inspire a team are essential. A full UK driving licence is required, along with the flexibility to work in rural settings and travel to the Eaton Estate in Chester for quarterly compliance meetings.
