New Directions Education are working with a welcoming Primary School on the Wirral seeking a committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their Year 2 class from September 2025 on an ongoing, week-by-week basis.
This is a mornings-only role (Monday to Friday), ideal for someone who has solid KS1 experience and is looking for consistent, part-time hours in a lovely school environment.
Role Highlights:
1. Providing targeted support to pupils in Year 2, both in groups and 1:1
2. Supporting the class teacher with daily routines, classroom activities and interventions
3. Helping pupils stay engaged, focused and on-task
4. Building positive relationships with pupils and promoting learning through encouragement and praise
About You:
5. Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or above)
6. Experience working in a Year 2 classroom is essential
7. Confident supporting literacy and numeracy at KS1 level
8. A calm, supportive and enthusiastic approach
9. Available for mornings only, Monday to Friday

We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
24. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
25. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
26. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
27. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
28. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
