Main duties of the job
* Lead and coordinate the daily operations of the theatre or anaesthetic team, ensuring efficient theatre utilisation and a safe environment for patients and staff.
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised programmes of care for a defined group of patients.
* Support and mentor junior staff, contributing to their professional growth and maintaining high standards of practice across the department.
* Act as a deputy for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse/Principal ODP when required, attending key meetings and supporting workforce organisation.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure seamless communication and effective patient‑centred care.
* Monitor stock levels, manage resources efficiently, and ensure adherence to departmental budgets.
* Participate in audits, governance meetings and quality improvement initiatives to drive service excellence.
* Maintain accurate clinical records using the EPIC patient record system and ensure compliance with Trust policies.
