We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Surrey, who are looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor on a permanent contract.
This will be a full-time position based in Surrey, with hybrid working (1/2 days home working) and a salary of £46,045 - £52,379 per annum. (£2,500 welcome payment + £2,500 retention payment)
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working in a building surveyor role to a high professional standard.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
1. Leading a team of surveyors to deliver high-quality, compliant property services
2. Managing contracts and oversee maintenance, repair and improvement works
3. Carrying out property inspections, condition surveys and energy audits
4. Preparing specifications, drawings and tender documents for construction projects
5. Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, including the Social Housing Act 2024
6. Providing technical advice and documentation to support legal and estate teams
Experience required:
7. At least four years' experience of successfully working in a building surveying role to a high professional standard
8. Experience in working with teams across an organisation to improve services
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
9. Substantial knowledge of building structures and services and common defects
10. Substantial knowledge of inspecting and surveying a diverse range of property and a working knowledge of building services
11. Strong knowledge of building project design, CAD drawing, specification preparation, preparation of condition surveys and building cost estimation
