Purpose of the role
Design, develop, and implement solutions to complex business problems by collaborating with stakeholders to understand needs, designing solutions that balance technology risks with business delivery, and driving consistency.
Accountabilities
1. Design and develop solutions as products that can evolve, meeting business requirements with modern software engineering practices and automated delivery tools, including technology and platform identification and implementation.
2. Apply workload placement strategies to maximize cloud benefits such as elasticity, serverless, and containerization.
3. Create best practice designs incorporating security principles like defense in depth and blast radius reduction, meeting the Bank’s resiliency standards.
4. Balance risks and controls to deliver business and technological value.
5. Adopt standard solutions where appropriate; contribute to their evolution when no existing solutions fit.
6. Support operational teams with fault finding and performance issues, leveraging available tools.
7. Assess the impact of solutions on risk, capacity, and cost, including project change and ongoing operational costs.
8. Develop architecture inputs for governance compliance, including design artifacts for architecture, privacy, security, and records management.
