We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse at HMP Lewes to join our team. HMP Lewes is a category B male prison. It is located near the centre of the historic town of Lewes, just a 5-minute walk away.
Due to HMP Lewes holding remand prisoners, staff are required to work on a rota basis, which may include nights, bank holidays, and weekends. We are open to discussing flexibility options at interview.
Salary
Up to £52,507 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements
Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK. Employment offers are subject to additional vetting and security checks due to the nature of the role.
What you'll be doing
* Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions.
* Undertake medication rounds and dispense controlled medication.
* Respond to emergency situations.
* Assess patients and undertake reception screening.
* Use evidence-based frameworks to assess health needs and perform risk assessments with sound clinical knowledge.
* Assess physical and mental health of prisoners on admission and throughout custody to facilitate appropriate referrals.
* Make clinical judgments regarding immediate needs and long-term treatment.
