Job Description Key Responsibilities – Sous Chef As Sous Chef, you’ll play a vital role in launching and supporting the leadership of a vibrant, multi-outlet kitchen operation at one of the region’s most exciting new destinations. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting the Head Chef in delivering the culinary vision across the Farmshop, Café Restaurant, Barista Coffee Bar, Playbarn Café, Concessions, and Events & Hospitality spaces Supervising and mentoring kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained at all times Managing daily kitchen operations, including food prep, stock rotation, allergen control, and assisting with supplier coordination Working closely with front-of-house and events teams to ensure smooth service for school visits, weddings, seasonal events, and private functions Maintaining consistency and efficiency across a logistically varied site, ensuring timely and high-quality food delivery Upholding food safety and hygiene standards, including compliance with HACCP procedures Contributing to menu development, bringing creativity and seasonal inspiration to the table Driving continuous improvement, offering ideas and feedback to enhance the food offering and kitchen operations Qualifications ✅ What We’re Looking For: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-volume, quality-focused environment A strong background in wedding and event catering —you know how to deliver under pressure and support seamless execution A track record of supporting, training, and motivating kitchen teams to maintain consistently high standards Financial awareness, with experience in food cost control, GP targets, stock management, and supplier coordination Excellent coaching and delegation skills —you lead by example and support the Head Chef in developing the team Highly organised, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure, especially during peak service An empathetic and effective communicator with a collaborative, solution-focused mindset Strong menu execution, planning, and problem-solving abilities Able to work 5 out of 7 days, including weekends and evenings as required by the operation Additional Information For almost 20 years, for every client, in every location (whether that’s an office, stadium, cathedral or university), we have created beautiful spaces, exciting menus and friendly teams, so that each and every customer can have the hospitality experience they deserve.
