We are delighted to be working alongside Peterhead Port Authority seeking fish market operatives to join their growing team. This will be on a full-time rota basis with day and nightshifts. This role will be temporary to begin with and may become permanent for the right candidate. The role includes tasks associated with the operation, maintenance, and cleaning of the fish market. This involves assisting in the co-ordination of the landing and allocation of space in the market recording fish landings, interacting with stakeholders to arranging berthing, water & services for vessels that utilise the fish market. Rota: 5 days on 2 off 2 on 5 off. From 0600hrs – 1800hrs and 1800hrs to 0600hrs. The Fish Market operates 11 hour working per shift (12 hours in total, 1 hour unpaid break) Duties: Facilitating the mooring location of the vessel where necessary Issuing required equipment to enable the vessel to land its catch Marking on the floor the allocated space for vessels to land in the market Issuing and recording fresh water intake for each vessel Preparing the space following a vessel landing Any other reasonable task to facilitate the landing of the vessels/ consignments Updating Fish Market computer database for vessels and consignments Allocation of loading bay doors for transport Opening of loading bay doors for transportation of fish following sale Having a physical presence on the auction floor during the fish sale Clearing of debris from the market following the auction Operating the Fish Market Forklift truck, pallet truck & power washer Washing of the market as required using freshwater hoses and chemicals Conducting the Fish Market planned maintenance schedules when instructed If you are stay within local travel distance to Peterhead and have the Right to Work in the UK please apply today.
