The Opportunity
We are looking for an Apprentice River and Coastal Civil Engineer to join our Infrastructure team, based in our Reading office, as part of the 2026 Apprentice Programme.
The team works on a variety of projects such as river restoration, natural flood management, river and waterways structures, surface water drainage, flood alleviation schemes, wetland design, flood risk management, and river and coastal engineering. If you enjoy problem solving and have a passion for climate change and sustainability, then this is the role for you!
Your Role
* Support senior staff in detailed design, report writing, optioneering, programme and project management, and site visits.
* Gain exposure to flood risk, hydrology, hydraulics and water management through structured graduate training.
* Receive a Delegated Engineer and Supervising Civil Engineer to support your route to Chartership.
Qualifications
* UCAS tariff points: 112 points minimum.
* A level: BBC or ABB (including Mathematics grade B or above and one other analytical subject grade B or above).
* BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma: Merit or above in Mathematics and Further Mathematics, entry to UWE or Exeter/Coventry as specified.
* Scottish Highers: 4 SQA Higher grades – A, B, B, B (including Mathematics).
* Irish Leaving Certificate: H3s for Mathematics and another Analytical Science (H4 allowed).
* International Baccalaureate: 32 points, HL5 Maths and HL5 in another Science.
* Other equivalent qualifications may be considered.
You Must Also Have
* At least 5 GCSEs with grade 5 or 6 (B) or above in Mathematics and English Language. Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths are accepted.
