Band 6 Practice Educator – Adult and Paediatric – Emergency Department, Worthing Hospital.
An exciting opportunity to join the Emergency Department. You will work with the Lead Practice Development Nurse to support staff education and clinical practice in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting (over 100,000 patients per year, 25% children, as a designated Trauma unit). The department has 5 adult and 1 paediatric resuscitation bays, 30 major spaces, a mental health area, and a dedicated paediatric ED.
Main duties of the job
* Support the Lead Practice Development Nurse to establish and maintain a positive and effective clinical learning environment for pre‑ and post‑registered nurses, including overseas nurses.
* Promote and deliver evidence‑based education and support to promote best nursing practice.
* Conduct 1:1 shadowing, up‑skill junior staff, deliver mini teaching sessions, assist student nurses/New RNs, and take ownership of Study Days.
* Plan and support new starter inductions, audit and learning from feedback, and support online competencies (paper‑light).
* Provide monthly BLS (Adult & Paediatrics), role‑model Trust values, and deliver gold‑standard care.
* Provide flexible learning for study days and Winter Welfare.
* Maintain feedback logs, practice supervision notes, preceptorship books, and audit documents.
Visa sponsorship: Role eligible for Skilled Worker visa; sponsorship provided only if applicant meets UKVI criteria.

Qualifications / Experience
* Registered Nurse.
* Minimum 1 year acute care/ED experience.
* Evidence of quality improvement work.
* Venepuncture & cannulation skills.
* ED pathway or other relevant courses (internal/external).
* Evidence of teaching or supporting learners.
* ALS/PILS/ATLS qualification.
