Overview
Experienced Conservation Officer needed to hit the ground running in a strong team fully engaged with the demands and variety of development that the history and growth of Cambridge entail – within a context of evolving work practices and emphasis on cost recovery.
Responsibilities
* Responding to application consultations and preparing conservation area appraisals.
* Involved with major development proposals; college decarbonisation; local listing; city heat network; and site allocation projects in a fast-growing economic area.
* Work within the Historic Environment Team in the Design & Environment Advisory Service of Greater Cambridge Shared Planning (a shared service between Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council).
Requirements
* A degree or postgraduate qualification in a built heritage related subject.
* Good understanding of UK heritage-related planning legislation and policy.
* Considerable relevant work experience.
* IHBC Full membership (or relevant equivalent) desirable.

* Location: Cambourne/Cambridge/Hybrid
* Hours: Full time (37 hrs pw), permanent
* Salary: £42,924 – £50,113 (Grade 6) pa
