Overview
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Welder to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level position offers a valuable opportunity to develop specialised welding skills within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training in various welding techniques, including TIG welding, and gain practical experience in fabrication and assembly processes. Duties
* Assist with welding tasks using MIG and TIG welding techniques and other welding methods as directed by senior welders
* Support fabrication activities involving sheet metal and other metal components
* Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
* Aid in the assembly of metal structures and components according to technical drawings and specifications
* Maintain a clean and organised work area to ensure safety and efficiency
* Learn to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications related to welding projects
* Participate in ongoing training sessions to improve welding skills and mechanical knowledge
Experience
* Ability to use hand tools with the desire to progress into welding and fabrication
* Basic understanding of mechanical principles and aptitude for working with hand tools and power tools is advantageous
* Familiarity with fabrication processes, sheet metal work, or assembly tasks is a plus but not essential
* Basic maths skills are desirable for measuring materials accurately and following technical instructions
* A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and good attention to detail are essential qualities for success in this role
