Role Overview
As a Scheme Analyst you will possess a good understanding of the payments industry (card and non-card) and how these scheme models operate. Detailed knowledge of scheme networks (American Express, Diners, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, UPI and Visa) is essential. You will monitor and analyse regular scheme bulletins, organise and track analysis, validate relevance for the company and engage business and technical stakeholders to review and prioritise implementation of requirements. Bulletins impacting the business will require technology and operational projects to be raised, prioritised and delivered against mandated dates. The role also focuses on developing strategy and maintenance of the Scheme portals, ensuring staff have self‑serve access, and ensuring TPA/Service Provider registrations are correctly recorded. A good understanding of scheme rules and compliance programmes, billing, variances and reporting requirements will be valued.
What You Will Do
* Monitor and download new scheme mandates and changes, log, analyse, prioritise and support implementation.
* Manage Scheme portal, assign roles, keep contacts current.
* Ensure Service Provider / Third Party Agent registrations are up to date with card scheme networks for partners, subsidiaries and suppliers.
Secondary Responsibilities
* Review Data Integrity reports to identify authorisation and clearing issues on core platforms, with analysis and remediation plans.
* Manage Scheme Compliance and enforcement programmes for major card scheme networks, engaging internal stakeholders.
* Act as subject matter expert to interpret and analyse card scheme standards/rules.
* Work with Product & Technology team to assess impacts of new payment schemes on merchant estate and product portfolio.
* Collaborate with technical colleagues on dependencies, requirements and technical delivery roadmap.
* Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify and resolve operational and scheme related issues.
Who You Are
* Payment scheme compliance industry knowledge of the major networks (American Express, Diners, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, UPI, Visa).
* Expert knowledge of Scheme Notices (Bulletins, news articles, rule announcements).
* Expert knowledge of scheme portals and Service Provider/Third Party Agent registration requirements.
* Experience in scheme compliance and enforcement programmes, data integrity fees, engagement with business and merchants.
* Working knowledge of product lifecycle, managing release cycles and prioritisation.
* Analytical approach to complex problems, solution oriented.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with business, technical teams and customers.
* Strong people skills and effective communication style.
* Ability to effectively communicate and work in a distributed environment.
* Meticulous planner, close attention to detail, capacity and prioritisation with structured approach.
* Pro‑active and organized, meeting deadlines in a high‑paced environment.
