An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of SSENDIAS to work alongside our existing Information Officers. SSENDIAS is a statutory 0-25 service that provides parents/ carers, children & young people with up to date, confidential information advice and support around a range of education, health and social care matters relating to their SEN and disability.
You will be an integral part of SSENDIAS and first point of contact for the service. The role is varied and interesting with opportunities to take forward and be part of new ideas for SSENDIAS.
You will need to keep up to date with information regarding SEND and related health and social care, having the ability to update this information publicly through various types of media. This will expand on our already extensive library of information. Ensuring we keep up to date with information, support groups, legislation, and events.
As first point of contact for the service you will offer signposting and advice to service users. You will be taking referrals for caseworkers and ensuring accurate data is captured and recorded. This will be over the phone and other referral routes such as email and via our website. There will be opportunities for face-to-face engagement at events and coffee mornings out in the community through voluntary groups and other stakeholders, such as Health, LA, and schools. You will deliver core services, including workshops, webinars, events and 1-1 clinics, both face to face and online.
You will have excellent enquiry handling skills and experience of working effectively as a team member. Good IT skills and the ability to search effectively for information using internal and external electronic resources.
This is a job share, part-time permanent position working 18.5 hours for 52 weeks of the year. As this role is first point of contact for SSENDIAS, we are looking for someone to cover half days on a Wednesday, then full days 9-5 on Thursday and Friday. The post is in a hybrid way of working, involving working from home, in the office and in various face to face events with parents/ carers and their families and professionals.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
