OLC Cosmetics is a dynamic and rapidly growing beauty brand with a vast and evolving product catalog. We pride ourselves on creating high-quality products and, crucially, designing and manufacturing our own innovative packaging in-house. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced designer to be the cornerstone of our visual brand identity, ensuring every package and every advertisement is premium, compliant, and commercially compelling.
The Role: Senior Graphic & Packaging Designer
We are hiring a strategic and technically proficient Senior Designer to take full ownership of our product visuals and packaging lifecycle. This is a high-autonomy role that requires a blend of creative mastery, technical precision, and project leadership.
Core Responsibilities
The work involves end-to-end management of all packaging and marketing design projects:
* Project Strategy: Liaise directly with the Owner/Client to clarify the creative aims, budgetary constraints, and project timetable for new and existing product lines.
* Creative Conception: Undertake detailed research into cosmetic market trends, material science, and design feasibility. Prepare sketches, scale drawings, and 3D mock-ups to define the visual and structural design, presenting ideas and discussing required alterations with stakeholders.
* Technical Realisation: Prepare comprehensive technical specifications and instructions for the full realization of the design project, ensuring structural integrity and manufacturability of the packaging.
* Production & Integration: Liaise with the production team to ensure all graphic design files and structural die-lines fit seamlessly with manufacturing elements, printing processes, and project timescales.
* Final Output & Advertising: Produce or oversee the creation of the final artwork (labels, folding cartons, prints) and prepare assets in the correct medium to make the product look exceptional for advertising, digital marketing, and website display.
* Compliance: Ensure all packaging and labelling is 100% compliant with industry regulations (e.g., ingredient listings, safety warnings).
Required Experience & Qualifications
To meet the complexity and strategic nature of this role, we require a highly skilled individual:
* Experience: A minimum of 5 years' professional experience in a dedicated packaging design, product design, or senior graphic design role.
* Industry Focus: Proven experience in the beauty, cosmetic, or high-end FMCG sector is essential, demonstrating a nuanced understanding of designing for premium consumer products.
* Technical Mastery: Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for graphic execution, and strong demonstrable proficiency in 3D modelling/CAD software for structural design.
* Qualification (Preferred): A qualification at RQF Level 6 or above (e.g., Bachelor's Degree/HND or equivalent professional qualification). While a design qualification is ideal, we value any RQF Level 6+ qualification (e.g., an MBA, MSc, or similar) that demonstrates high-level strategic, business, or academic ability combined with the mandatory design experience.
