CAD Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a CAD Engineer for our client in the automotive industry, based in Peterborough. The successful candidate will deliver innovative designs and solutions, serving as a key engineering link within the company and possessing extensive CAD expertise.
1. Oversee the entire design lifecycle, from concept to prototyping, ensuring projects meet deadlines and budget constraints.
2. Engage in hands-on activities such as prototyping, testing, and iterating to refine designs.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, manufacturing, and operations to integrate design concepts seamlessly.
4. Keep updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products.
5. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by exploring new materials, technologies, and design methods.
6. Establish and maintain design standards and guidelines to ensure quality and consistency across projects.
7. Conduct regular design reviews and provide constructive feedback for team development.
8. Effectively communicate design concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Minimum qualifications:
* Degree in Automotive Design, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
* Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
* A strong portfolio demonstrating successful design projects.
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to commute to Peterborough.
Salary & Benefits
* Salary: £35,000 to £45,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
* Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
* Company pension scheme.
* 28 days holiday, including bank holidays.
