AutoCAD – Project Engineer
An established engineering company based in near Keele, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join their internal team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in mechanical engineering and 2D AutoCAD who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and growing business.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for overseeing and progressing new pumping station projects from design through to material procurement and delivery. This role offers the chance to work across multiple projects in a dynamic, technically rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities of this AutoCAD – Project Engineer role:
Create and modify technical drawings using 2D AutoCAD
Prepare parts lists and support material procurement to ensure competitive pricing
Produce and maintain O&M manuals and related documentation
Assist with the preparation of quotations within set deadlines
Provide feedback on market trends and customer requirements
Support client queries and help build long-term customer relationships
Liaise effectively with customers, area sales managers, the management team, and suppliers
Ensure all products and materials comply with company and industry standards
Maintain and enhance company procedures where possible
Identify personal training needs to support professional growthQualifications & Skills required for this AutoCAD – Project Engineer role:
Mechanical Engineering experience
AutoCAD LT competency
General understanding of mechanical engineering principles
Computer literacy (MS Office, AutoCAD LT)
Experience within the pump, pipework, or valve industry
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Flexible and adaptable approach to work
Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects
Highly organised, with attention to detail
Self-motivated with a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude
Professional and confident dealing with all levels of enquiry
Keen to learn and develop new skillsDetails of this this AutoCAD – Project Engineer role:
Based at the head office in Woore, Cheshire
Office hours: 08:00 – 18:00
Workshop hours: Typically 08:00 – 16:30
Flexibility: Option to work contracted hours over 4 days (subject to workload and manager discretion)
Due to the rural location, own transport is essential
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 DOE
30 days’ holiday (including statutory), rising to 33 days after 1 year
