At St George’s Church of England Foundation School, we are seeking to appoint a Second in Charge of English (TLR 2b). There is one position available, with the leadership responsibility tailored to the successful candidate.

Your role
You will:
5. Teach English at KS3 and KS4 as well as resit to KS5 pupils and should also have the ability to teach Drama which we will be looking to expand to GCSE and A Level in the future
6. Support the Director of Learning in leading English
7. Contribute to curriculum development and raising standards
8. Model excellent teaching and uphold high expectations
TLR 2b responsibility (one role)

9. Lead instructional coaching and CPD
10. Mentor ECTs and support staff development
11. Promote evidence-informed teaching
12. Improve teaching consistency and outcomes
OR
Personal Development
13. Lead PSHE, RSHE, Citizenship and Character Education
14. Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and resilience
15. Develop enrichment and pupil leadership
16. Support engagement, behaviour and inclusion
What we’re looking for
17. Qualified teacher with a relevant degree
18. Strong English subject knowledge; ability to teach Drama
19. Experience at KS3 and KS4
20. Leadership potential and strong interpersonal skills
21. Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and school values
