Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £60,000 + excellent benefits package
Location: Central London
Working Arrangement: Mostly remote with ad hoc travel to Central London
The Role:
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the proactive support, design, and evolution of customer network environments. Day-to-day you will:
* Own and drive customer tickets through to resolution while delivering exceptional communication and exceeding SLAs
* Act as a subject-matter expert across multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, and others)
* Design, plan, and implement project-based network changes and greenfield deployments
* Proactively monitor, identify, and resolve issues while recommending configuration improvements
* Automate repetitive tasks through scripting and streamline processes
* Perform firmware/software upgrades and maintain accurate asset and documentation records
* Uphold rigorous change control and security best practices, including vulnerability management
* Mentor junior team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Network Engineer within a managed service or enterprise environment
* Deep, hands-on expertise with Cisco (CCNP level or equivalent highly desirable), Fortinet, Juniper, and other leading vendors
* Strong understanding of network topology, routing/switching, firewalling, and the interaction between physical, virtual, and cloud layers
* Demonstrable troubleshooting skills on complex, multi-site networks
* Experience in designing and delivering network projects from concept through to implementation
* Scripting/automation skills (Python, Ansible, or similar) to improve efficiency
* Solid grasp of IT security principles and vulnerability management
* Excellent customer-facing skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly
* Relevant industry certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, Fortinet NSE, etc.) strongly preferred
