An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced and capable Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist, with an interest in career progression.
The successful applicant will be a suitably qualified and experienced HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist, who may hold or be working towards an MSc.
This post is in the Biochemistry Section at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head BMS and other senior grade staff in the management of the department’s sections.
* Manage and deploy staff within the assigned section(s), ensuring adherence to local Trust policies such as health & safety and HR.
* Deputise for the Deputy Head BMS in their absence and take direct responsibility for the department when required.
* Provide cover for other senior specialists within the department.
* Perform a range of senior specialist activities and provide highly specialist advice to clinicians and other service users.
A Roche equipment refresh will be undertaken in the next few months.
The department is an approved IBMS/HCPC training laboratory; continuous professional development is actively encouraged.
Location & Flexibility
This post is based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, although candidates may be required to work across sites.
