BEAR is looking for Graduate Engineers eager to start their engineering careers.
BEAR Scotland manages, maintains, and improves 1962 km of Scottish trunk roads, including over 2000 bridges and structures, through scenic yet challenging areas. The company invests millions annually in road maintenance and improvements.
The Graduate Engineer, reporting to the Nominated Delegate Engineer, will assist with daily activities related to their assigned work stream across various teams. They will be responsible for executing tasks to technical standards, on schedule, within budget, and will rotate between teams based on workload and training needs.
Role includes:
* Complying with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures as part of the company’s Integrated Management Systems.
* Delivering assigned projects on time and within budget.
* Monitoring and controlling project costs effectively.
* Building good relationships with clients, customers, and other stakeholders.
* Responding to correspondence appropriately.
* Planning daily workloads.
* Supporting the Designer’s role in accordance with CDM Regulations and drafting risk assessments.
* Producing Health & Safety Information packs.
* Managing and supervising subcontractors.
* Participating in winter maintenance activities as needed.
* Following the Graduate Training programme requirements.
* Assisting the Delegated Engineer and team members as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Relevant degree-level qualification or current experience in a related discipline.
* Understanding of relevant engineering principles.
* Working towards further qualification or chartered status.
* Proficiency with analysis, design, and office software.
* Ability to meet strict deadlines.
* Commercial awareness.
* Valid UK driving license.
