We have an opportunity for a full time Band 6 CAMHS Learning Disability practitioner in Tameside and Glossop CAMHS.
One of our priorities is supporting our team with their continued professional development. As such, we offer flexibility to ensure skills and knowledge are offered and expanded in many areas of our service.
Main duties of the job
* To undertake a variety of high quality assessments with children with a learning disability and co-morbid mental health need who are referred to CAMHS.
* To provide access to a range of quality psychotherapeutic interventions in accordance with individual assessed need. This will include the assessment planning implementation and evaluation of a variety of therapeutic approaches either alone or as a member of the MDT.
* To deliver therapeutic input to children and young people referred to the learning disability team as well as their carers.
* Work as a co-therapist where appropriate with other members of the MDT.
* To be responsible for and manage a defined complex caseload of service users with a learning disability and undertake case management responsibilities within the caseload.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
* NMC nursing or social work or equivalent Health /social care qualification with registration
* Significant post qualification experience in community mental health services to post graduate diploma level
Desirable criteria
* ADOS trained
* Experience of delivering parent training
Experience
Essential criteria
* Professional involvement with the users of mental health services.
* Experience of case management of young people
* Experience of multi-agency working
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience in supporting individuals who have a learning disability
Desirable criteria
* Experience of relating to young people in a group or community setting.
* Had a role as a SENCO or worked within a specialist provision
* Post qualifying teaching experience
* Significant work with Children and young people requiring emotional health and wellbeing interventions.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Knowledge of mental health issues in young people
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and National policies in relation to young people
* Knowledge of therapeutic interventions with young people
Desirable criteria
* Understanding of youth offending services
* Knowledge of drug and alcohol issues relating to young people
