Temporary Payroll Specialist - 6 Month Contract
📍 Location: Leeds LS12 - Free onsite parking
💰 Salary: £30,000-£35,000 (hourly equivalent)
🕒 Hours: Full-time or part-time (minimum 21 hours / 3 days per week) - flexible to suit you!

About the Opportunity:
We're looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join the business on a 6‑month temporary contract.
You'll be joining a friendly, supportive team of five Payroll Specialists and Officers, helping them through a period of increased workload and high-volume activity.
If you're confident managing large payroll cycles, enjoy problem‑solving, and pride yourself on accuracy, this role offers the perfect environment to shine. You'll also support employees with queries around taxable benefits and salary sacrifice arrangements.
Key Responsibilities 📝
Manage end-to-end payroll for 4,000+ employees (weekly & monthly).
* Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, statutory deductions & company policies.
* Administer taxable benefits and support accurate P11D reporting.
* Oversee salary sacrifice schemes, ensuring correct deductions.
* Maintain and update payroll & HR system records with precision.
* Produce payroll reports for HR and Finance teams.
* Handle employee payroll queries professionally and efficiently.
* Work with HR on smooth on-boarding and leaver processes.
* Stay updated on payroll legislation changes and implement adjustments.
* Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation.
Experience & Skills Required 🎯
Proven experience managing payroll in a high‑volume environment.
* Strong understanding of payroll legislation, tax codes & P11D reporting.
* Confident using payroll software & proficient in MS Excel.
* Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
* Great communication and problem‑solving abilities.
