About the role
We’re looking for a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Ouse Valley Sussex CAMHS Service, supporting children and young people aged 0–18.
This is an opportunity to play a key clinical leadership role within a supportive, multidisciplinary locality team, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and helping shape services for children, young people and their families.
The post attracts an enhanced £45,000 Recruitment & Retention Payment, reflecting the importance of this role within the service.
Recruitment & Retention Payment (RRP)
This role includes a £45,000 RRP, structured as: (Pro rata for part-time roles)
Your clinical role
* Provide specialist psychiatric assessments and treatment in line with NICE guidance
* Work collaboratively with children, young people and their families
* Contribute to formulation, care planning and shared decision‑making
* Work within a skilled MDT including nurses, psychologists, systemic family therapists and child psychotherapists
* Provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to colleagues
You’ll also be part of Trust‑wide consultant and SAS networks, with regular opportunities for peer support, governance and professional collaboration.

What we’re looking for
* GMC‑registered Consultant Psychiatrist (or within 6 months of CCT)
* Approved Clinician and Section 12 status (or able to achieve shortly after appointment)
* Strong CAMHS experience and a collaborative clinical approach
* Commitment to values‑led, child‑centred and family‑focused care
