About HELP (Argyll and Bute) Limited
HELP is a well-established third sector organisation supporting 16–25-year-olds who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or leaving care. Guided by its values – empathy, inclusivity, integration, personalisation, and professionalism – the organisation delivers housing support, skills development, health and wellbeing programmes, and information and advice services that make a lasting difference in young people’s lives.
With the planned retirement of the Chief Executive Officer, HELP is seeking an experienced and values-led Chief Officer to provide inspirational leadership and ensure the continued delivery and development of high-quality services.
The Role
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Officer will lead service delivery, ensuring compliance with National Care Standards. The role involves supporting operational excellence, managing budgets, and developing innovative practice models. This is a strategic, outward-facing role requiring stakeholder collaboration, policy responsiveness, and growth opportunities. The Chief Officer will also oversee workforce planning, recruitment, and staff development to maintain a confident and motivated team.
The Person
The ideal candidate is a confident, solution-focused leader with experience in care, housing, or third sector services. They should have a strong understanding of issues affecting young people, especially homelessness, and be capable of designing effective programmes. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential for stakeholder engagement, policy influence, and community representation. Budget management, funding application experience, and service development skills are required, along with qualifications for SSSC registration or the ability to obtain them within the timeframe. Membership of the PVG scheme is also necessary.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to shape the future of a respected organisation. The Chief Officer will have the opportunity to drive innovation, support service excellence, and help HELP remain a leader in youth support across Argyll and Bute.
For a confidential discussion, contact Lauryn Pringle or Debbie Shields at Aspen People. The closing date for applications is Monday, 15th September 2025.
