Social Worker – Triage & Assessment Team in Aberaeron, Dyfed (UK). Earn £38.43 per hour for a 37‑hour workweek, Monday‑Friday 8:45 am to 5:00 pm. Hybrid working is available, with face‑to‑face assessments required in the county.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake initial screening of referrals, applying local threshold criteria to decide appropriate pathways such as Early Help, Child in Need or Section 47 enquiries.
* Complete statutory assessments under Sections 17 and 47 of the Children Act 1989 within prescribed timescales, ensuring robust analysis of risk and need.
* Carry out strategy discussions and enquiries in partnership with Police, Health and other agencies where safeguarding concerns are identified.
* Engage directly with children and families to gather information, assess risk and inform evidence‑based decision‑making.
Person Specification
* Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent).
* Completion of ASYE or demonstrable post‑qualifying experience in statutory children’s social care.
* Registered with Social Work England.
* Strong working knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children and statutory assessment frameworks.
* Understanding of local safeguarding procedures, information‑sharing protocols, and public law outline (PLO) processes.
