The Role
This role exists to provide the detailed technical input into a project and ensure all works are executed safely and meet the requirements of the specification. The role requires focus on safe systems of work and delivering a quality product within the agreed timescales and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
* Accurately setting out of the works and dimensional control;
* Resolving technical problems at all levels;
* Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner;
* Production of survey information and red-lined drawings for the completion of the As-built records;
* Ensure equipment is calibrated, in ate and suitably checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers defined requirements;
* Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate procedures;
* Supervise the outputs and confirm that the project environmental requirements are met.
* Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturers recommendations, current working practice, contract specification or project requirements;
* Assist the Site Management team to update KPI's, material reconciliation and progress reports.
The Ideal Candidate
With at least 3 years engineering experience and a proven track record of working on sub and superstructure packages, specifically with concrete/RCFrame structures and basements, the ideal candidate will hold a Civil Engineering or Construction related degree, have a valid CSCS card and SMSTS, and be able to demonstrate the following skill set:
* Team leadership and management skills with the ability to plan and monitor the workload of junior engineers;
* Determination to excel within the role and execute responsibilities with due care and diligence;
* Effective communication skills, both written and oral;
* Competent to undertake Engineering Surveys with ability to set-out and use a wide variety of equipment and techniques;
* Knowledge in the care and checking of survey equipment;
* Assertiveness and confidence to stop any operations that appear unsafe or contrary to good engineering practice.
