Job description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join a well-established community drug and alcohol service based in Barnet. This role offers the opportunity to support individuals on their recovery journey and make a meaningful impact within the local community.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a caseload of service users with drug and/or alcohol support needs
* Completing comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, and recovery plans
* Delivering structured interventions and harm reduction advice
* Supporting individuals with detox and recovery pathways, including referrals to Tier 4 services where appropriate
* Working collaboratively with health professionals, housing providers, and social services
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in line with organisational and safeguarding policies
* Supporting service users to access wider services such as housing, employment, and mental health support
Requirements
* Previous experience working within a substance misuse or recovery service
* Experience managing a caseload of service users
* Strong understanding of harm reduction, safeguarding, and recovery-focused practice
* Ability to complete assessments, care plans, and risk management documentation
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Enhanced DBS within the last 12 months or registered on the DBS Update Service
Desirable
* Experience working within community drug and alcohol services
* Knowledge of local treatment systems and referral pathways
* Experience supporting clients with dual diagnosis or complex needs
