About the Role
Bhuku Ltd is seeking a committed and dynamic Prison Employment Coach to deliver the Prisoner Employment Service at HMP Norwich. You will work directly with men in custody to prepare them for sustainable employment, training, and further education opportunities on release.
This role is at the heart of supporting the Government's prison education and employment strategy. You will be responsible for a caseload of up to 50 learners at any one time, supporting around 200 learners per quarter on a roll-on, roll-off basis.
You'll be helping individuals:
* Develop employability skills including CV writing, job searching, applications, and interview practice.
* Build confidence, resilience, and workplace behaviours.
* Gain recognition of progress through Progress in Work portfolios.
* Link into vocational workshops, industries, ROTL placements, and resettlement pathways.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of up to 50 prisoners, providing 1:1 and group employability support.
* Carry out initial assessments, set personal goals, and create tailored employment action plans.
* Deliver workshops on workplace skills, job readiness, and functional employability.
* Support prisoners to complete Progress in Work portfolios, evidencing their learning and skills.
* Work closely with prison industries, vocational tutors, CIAG teams, and external partners to provide holistic support.
* Ensure inclusivity for all learners, adapting provision for ESOL, neurodiverse, and disadvantaged learners.
* Record attendance, progression, and outcomes accurately on prison systems (e.g., PNOMIS).
* Maintain high safeguarding standards and support positive behaviour.

About You
We are looking for candidates who are:
* Passionate about reducing reoffending and supporting rehabilitation through employment.
* Skilled communicators, able to engage and motivate prisoners with diverse needs.
* Organised and adaptable, able to manage caseloads and flex around the prison regime.
* Resilient and professional, with the ability to build positive working relationships with learners, staff, and partner organisations.
Experience in employability coaching, careers guidance, or prison education is desirable but not essential — full training and induction will be provided.
