Overview
We are seeking a skilled horticulturist and gardener to join our team in maintaining and enhancing the gardens of our property on the Windsor/Bucks border. The ideal candidate will have proven gardening and landscaping experience, with excellent knowledge of plant care, cultivation, and seasonal planting, alongside proficiency with horticultural tools and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out all aspects of gardening including:
Planting, bedding maintenance, and seasonal displays
Tree cutting, pruning, and routine watering
Hedge trimming, mowing, and lawn care
Regular weeding and planting of new plants
Fertilising, potting and repotting plants, and relocating plants as needed
Specialist bonsai care (pruning, watering, and shaping)
Operate and maintain gardening tools and machinery such as mowers, strimmers, and other handheld tools
Perform routine garden care with a focus on plant health and cultivation
Ensure all gardening work is carried out with safety and environmental considerations
Collaborate with other staff and team leaders to coordinate gardening schedules
Report any garden-related issues, hazards, or plant health concerns to the appropriate personnel
Requirements
Minimum 1 year's proven experience as a gardener or horticulturist
Strong horticultural knowledge including plant care and seasonal practices
Proficiency with horticultural hand tools and power equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail in all tasks related to gardening
Positive and proactive attitude
Car driver essential due to necessity to drive work vehicles
Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Shift Pattern
10-hour shifts per day
1-hour paid lunch break included
5 working days per week
Required to work 3 weekends out of every 4
