Hydraulics Engineer - Barnsley

What will you be doing?
·Commissioning hydraulic systems on site
·Fault-finding and resolving hydraulic issues
·Carrying out isolations and working under permit systems
·Supporting installation and hands-on delivery of mechanical handling equipment
·Producing and reviewing hydraulic schematics and technical documentation
·Working closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to deliver full turnkey projects
This is a genuinely practical role, split roughly 50/50 between site and office. You'll be involved from installation through to final commissioning, taking ownership of hydraulic performance on complex mechanical handling systems.
Where you'll be doing it?
You'll be based in Barnsley with a specialist engineering business delivering full turnkey mechanical handling projects. They design, manufacture and install large-scale moving structures including bridges, lock gates and roller coasters. Projects are varied, technically challenging and highly visible.
What you'll need:
·Strong experience with industrial hydraulic systems
·Proven commissioning and fault-finding experience
·Confidence working on site, including permits and isolations
·Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics
·A practical, problem-solving approach
·Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent hands-on experience
