Contract Maintenance Engineer - Manchester (Outside IR35)
Payment type: Outside IR35
Rate: circa £35-37 per hour
Schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off (including nights)
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 months+ (long‑term)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Contract Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturer with significant investments in its site. The role is hands‑on and focuses on maintaining high‑speed packaging lines to keep them running smoothly in a modern clean environment.
Key Duties
* Preventive and reactive maintenance of machinery
* Fault finding and repairs
* Work on conveyors and automated production equipment
* Minimise downtime and support continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
* Mechanical or Electrical qualification (Apprenticeship/NVQ/C&G)
* Hands‑on experience as a Maintenance Engineer in high‑speed FMCG manufacturing
* Multi‑skilled preferred but either mechanical or electrical acceptable
* Ability to use initiative in a fast‑paced environment
