Overview
Do you want to make a difference to the lives of children, young people and their families?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Associate to join the Children & Young People's Continuing Care Team. We are a growing team within CCICP looking after children with complex needs. The children are referred into our team for support at home, schools or respite centres. We place trained carers to support the family and child.
Responsibilities
The Children's Continuing Care Team is dedicated to supporting children and young people with complex medical needs. We provide high quality care to children and young people within South Cheshire and Vale Royal. Nursing Associates provide skilled care to support these families, often on a 1:1 basis with the child. Hours include night shifts, days shifts including weekdays and weekends, in the home and in other community settings.
Key duties include:
* Carry out care as directed by a Primary Care Registered Nurse, reporting back as agreed
* Carry out relevant forms of care without direct supervision
* Demonstrate simple procedures to trained staff as agreed with the nursing team
* Work with the family, teachers, other carers and health care professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the child's care, without direct supervision
* Develop and maintain clinical competence through a competency-based training programme with regular assessment
* Promote health, comfort, dignity, privacy and a high quality of life while supporting the child and family rights
* Work within the complex/continuing care framework and protocols to provide and maintain a high standard of care to patients and carers
