Locally Employed Doctor ST3+ in Haematology
An opportunity to gain broad clinical and laboratory Haematology experience as a Locally Employed ST3 Doctor in a busy but friendly Haematology department.
You will gain lots of Haematology experience in a friendly department, working alongside 6 Haematology consultants, one SAS doctor, 4 Haematology clinical nurse specialists and 2 Haematology cancer support workers.
There is also a team of 3 resident doctors (FY2) covering Haematology inpatients.
This post is not recognised for training however provides excellent clinical and laboratory Haematology experience and there are plentiful educational and training opportunities. It would be suitable for doctors wanting a broad experience in Haematology prior to speciality training.
Main duties of the job
Clinical work includes outpatients, inpatient care including intensive chemotherapy. There will also be opportunity to gain experience in laboratory haematology and bone marrow biopsies.
You will need to be eligible to work in the UK for Sept 2023, hold full GMC registration and a license to practise. MRCP preferred and prior Haematology experience or interest preferable.

* MBBS or equivalent Qualification.
* Attendance at relevant courses.
* MRCP (UK) parts 1 & 2 or equivalent.
* Full MRCP(UK) or equivalent
Experience
* ExperienceEvidence of achievement of ST1/2 competencies;Experience of haematology Experience as an SpR in haematology would be useful in maximising the opportunities of this post. maintaining good medical practice good relationships and communication professional behaviour and probity- delivery of good acute clinical care
* Experience in haematology at SHO or equivalent
* Ability to provide complete details of employment history
* Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problem
* Demonstrates awareness of the basics of managing haematological conditions
* Experience of haematology
* Experience as an SpR in haematology would be useful in maximising the opportunities of this post.
