A career without limits
As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.
It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.
This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.
So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.
We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.
The role: International Affairs Executive
Join our Corporate Affairs and Sustainability directorate at British Airways as an International Affairs Executive, where you will play a key role in delivering the airline’s Public Affairs strategy and strengthening our reputation with political and government stakeholders. This role is central to ensuring British Airways’ priorities are understood by policymakers and that the airline is well‑positioned as political, regulatory and international developments evolve.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will work closely with the Network & Alliances directorate and IAG Government Affairs to support diplomatic and international Government engagement, including activity linked to new markets, market withdrawals and securing access. You will help deliver face‑to‑face meetings, briefings and communications that support route development, regulatory compliance and broader international priorities.
You will contribute to maintaining BA’s reputation within Government by providing timely updates on key business issues and developing well‑researched briefing materials, consultation responses, speeches and Government correspondence to support policy engagement.
You will also organise stakeholder events, trips and visits that showcase BA’s strategic objectives, while monitoring political and regulatory developments that affect the aviation sector.
The role includes supporting Government Affairs activity during disruption — including managing individual Government travel arrangements — and working closely with the IAG Government Affairs team and internal colleagues to ensure all activity is aligned.
What You’ll Bring to British Airways
1. Bring curiosity, initiative and strong judgement
2. Demonstrate excellent organisational skills to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
3. Use strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
4. Show flexibility, resilience and a positive, solutions‑focused mindset
5. Apply attention to detail and creativity in your work
6. Craft clear, compelling written materials that support BA’s strategic engagement and reputation
Your Experience
Having experience and understanding of Government and Public Affairs, including experience interacting with political stakeholders. You will understand how Government departments operate and make decisions, and have experience managing stakeholder relationships. Bringing experience in planning and coordinating communications or engagement activity and producing high‑quality written materials, along with knowledge of global, fast‑paced, consumer‑facing or operational environments — ideally those involving unionised workforces.
