Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 4pm.
Based at the Crewe site but ensuring regular visits to Leeds and Germany, the Finance Manager UK & Europe will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operation of all sites and will ensure the effective preparation, provision and presentation of accurate and timely financial information to meet statutory and business reporting requirements. The role will deputise as required for UK Head of Finance and will liaise directly with other relevant stakeholders in other parts of the business to ensure the development of a successful, effective and high-performing Finance function.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Ensure effective and accurate weekly, monthly and statutory financial reporting and tax compliance is maintained and developed across all business units. Facilitate internal, external and statutory audit activities as required.
* Work with the Head of Finance UK & Europe and other Stakeholders to ensure robust financial and business performance management systems are in place, which identify & monitor key drivers across all areas of the business. Offer ideas and solutions to the business to drive continuous improvement
* Take a lead role in developing the financial planning for business units and work with Group Finance and Head of Finance UK & Europe to consolidate plans as required.
* Ensure proper controls in place and maintained for all business units. Identify key business risks and implement risk management measures. Ensure appropriate policies, procedures and controls are in place to protect the financial integrity of the business
* Provide full financial support to the Leeds site and attend site on a regular basis. This will include completion of weekly and monthly accounts, KPI data, commercial and operational analysis, monthly forecasting and the annual budget
* Facilitate the adoption and rollout of the Oracle ERP platform, and any other IT tools to the UK and Europe business units. To include increased data automation and improved data visualisation across the overseas business units and ensure effective liaison with Group IT function as required
* Manage finance team performance, support team development and ensure cross skilling of roles and elimination of single points of dependency. Support and encourage effective cross functional working to drive financial accuracy across the business units
* Support & liaise closely with Group to ensure that the activities undertaken centrally (via Shared Services) for the UK and Europe business are carried out correctly and in a timely and efficient manner.
* Drive the development of financial awareness across the overseas division.
* Deputise for Head of Finance UK & Europe and other members of the Finance team as required.
Who are we looking for?
* A `hands-on¿, confident and highly experienced qualified account (preferably 5+ years post-qualification experience) ideally from a comparable FMCG manufacturing environment.
* Strong commerciality with demonstrable experience of contributing at senior Operations and Commercial levels with authority.
* Strong commercial finance and analytical skills and IT proficiency (ideally experience of Oracle ERP Systems).
* Experience of sales and margin management and profitability analysis; cost control, reduction and management in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement. Proven Project Management Skills
