Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Oldham Mental Health Support Team (MHST) to deliver evidence‑based CBT interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems in education settings. The successful candidate will help shape and build the service, working collaboratively with colleagues, educators, parents/carers and the wider network.
Responsibilities
* Conduct low‑intensity, evidence‑based CBT interventions in educational settings.
* Develop and implement treatment plans that target each child’s specific needs.
* Provide ongoing support to children, young people, parents/carers, families and educators in managing mental health difficulties.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and continuity of services.
* Assist in maintaining positive working relationships with school staff and external partners.
* Support the delivery of high‑quality service provision that promotes mental health and well‑being for young people.
Qualifications
* Successfully completed a 1‑year Post‑Graduate Certificate in Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) or currently in advanced study with expected completion in January 2025.
* Registered or in‑process for registration as an EMHP with BABCP or BPS (verified at interview and during pre‑employment checks).
* Experience in delivering CBT or related mental health interventions in an educational or community setting.
* Strong commitment to young‑person‑centred practice and evidence‑based approaches.
