Freelance Setting Out Engineer – Major Energy Infrastructure (Long-Term Contract) Location: Torness, East Lothian Start date: 20 April (or as close as possible) Contract duration: minimum 12 months+ Contract Scotland are recruiting for an experienced Freelance Setting Out Engineer to join a leading specialist reinforced concrete contractor delivering a high‑profile energy infrastructure project in East Lothian. This is a long‑term contract with genuine continuity for the right candidate, working on a complex civil engineering scheme within a major UK power site. Working within a team of engineers on site, you will be responsible for: Setting out foundations, ground beams and pile caps for major reinforced concrete works. Providing accurate levels, grids and control points for the site team and subcontractors. Checking and interpreting drawings, specifications and RC details prior to setting out Carrying out as‑built surveys and maintaining accurate site records. Liaising daily with the site manager, project engineer and supervising foremen to ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and to spec.
