Community Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist
Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – Full‑time position in the Low Secure & Community Forensic Directorate.
Applications are invited for a full‑time Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to join our Low Secure and Community Forensic Directorate. The Directorate includes a low secure inpatient hub and a range of specialist community services: Community Forensic Service, CFIDD, Assertive Transition Service (ATS), Criminal Justice Liaison & Diversion (L&D), and MBT/Personality Disorder services.
Applicants must be eligible for GMC specialist registration in Forensic Psychiatry, hold Approved Clinician status, and be approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act. A Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Forensic Psychiatry, or within 6 months of achieving it, is required. Equivalent qualifications and experience will be considered.
Flexible working options are available for those unable to work full‑time. Newly appointed consultants will receive mentoring arranged by the Associate Medical Director.

Responsibilities
* Consultant duties for a caseload of up to 40 community‑based patients, including those subject to MHA provisions (conditionally discharged, guardianship or SCTO).
* Coordinate with community psychiatric nurses and other community consultants.
* Administrative duties associated with patient care, including accurate record‑keeping and timely reporting to the Information Department.
* Participate in annual appraisal, academic programme of the Trust (lectures and seminars) and CPD programme.
* Maintain professional registration with GMC, MHA S12 and/or AC approval if required.
* Annual job plan review with the clinical manager and relevant managers.
* Support efficient running of services, share medical contribution to management, and comply with Trust policies and financial instructions.
* Provide high‑quality evidence‑based senior medical care to patients in the community.
* Demonstrate understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Human Rights legislation.
Qualifications
* GMC specialist registration in Forensic Psychiatry.
* Approved Clinician status.
* Approval under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act.
* CCT in Forensic Psychiatry or within 6 months of achievement.
* Equivalent qualifications and experience considered.
