Job Opportunity: Supply Chain Manager
A market leader in their sector, our client is an established and highly successful fresh produce supplier, marketing their fruit and supplying products to the UK retail arena. We are currently offering an opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager.
With a passion for success and productivity, coupled with a positive leadership approach, the successful candidate will be a vital part of the company's production leadership team. The individual will join the packhouse management team, with responsibilities involving coordinating and managing orders, requisites, and logistics to ensure the smooth and cost-effective flow of goods from suppliers to customers. Suitable candidates must be willing to work as part of a team and will report directly to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
1. Order Management: Oversee the entire order process, from placement to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfilment. Lead the operational teams on-site.
2. Requisition Management: Manage requisition processes, including identifying needs, sourcing, and procurement of materials and services, with packaging being a primary focus.
3. Labour Management: Collaborate with production and quality teams to plan work schedules. Liaise with the Labour Manager to meet labour requirements and ensure all team members are trained and capable. The team includes 60 packers, quality control leaders, dispatch staff, and line leaders. Act as the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Champion.
4. Logistics Coordination: Ensure all logistics involved in delivering fruit to customers are efficiently managed. This includes booking daily haulage movements with multiple hauliers and reporting pallet movements to our marketing cooperative. Report any issues to the Managing Director immediately.

* A practical and decisive individual who understands how an effectively run fresh produce packhouse can enhance overall business profitability.
* Commercially aware with excellent communication skills across all levels.
* Strong interpersonal skills to develop productive relationships within the team and across the business.
Salary and package are dependent on experience. Location: East Scotland.
