We are currently working with The West of England Combined Authority who are looking to recruit a Senior Communications and Marketing Officer to work within the Bus Grant programme.
Job: Senior Communications and Marketing Officer
Duration: Initial 3 months - likely per hour via Umbrella Company, Inside IR35
Site presence: Hybrid – 2-3 days in office
The Senior Marketing Communications Officer will play a pivotal role in delivering effective and creative marketing campaigns that align with organisational objectives. The postholder will be responsible for generating content, designing and delivering marketing plans, and ensuring impactful communication across digital and traditional platforms.
The role requires creativity, strategic thinking, and the ability to produce engaging content while managing diverse workloads and priorities. The postholder will also play a key role in reputational management, addressing risks proactively and ensuring the organisation’s image is consistently positive and professional.
Responsibilities
1. Stakeholder engagement, producing copy, planning and executing campaigns and general communications support
2. Deliver and manage proactive and coordinated communications and marketing activity to support individual projects and initiatives within the BGDP programme
3. Develop and deliver marketing campaigns that support the overarching communications strategy for the BGDP programme, as well as individual projects
4. Create engaging visual and video/audio content, as well as Plain English copy for different channels
5. Use a range of channels including in-person and digital to engage with the public, stakeholders and staff
6. Evaluate communications and marketing activities to ensure effectiveness and value for money, identifying opportunities to optimise performance and feeding insights back to teams
7. Manage creative and professional services to ensure effective delivery of all marketing activities, such as design, print, videos
Experience/Requirement
8. Experience of working with project teams to define objectives, develop messaging, recommend channels, and deliver a suite of campaign collateral and communications activities
9. Evaluating campaign performance against objectives, and making recommendations to improve future performance
10. In-depth knowledge and experience executing marketing campaigns, including the full channel mix, campaign planning and deliver
