Bury Music Service is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and inspirational leader for the role of Head of Service.
As an independent music service with a proud history of excellence, innovation, and community impact, we are a Local Lead Partner in the Greater Manchester Music Hub. We are passionate about ensuring that all children and young people in Bury have access to high-quality, inclusive, and inspiring musical experiences — both in and beyond school.
This is a significant leadership opportunity for someone with the vision and capability to drive forward our strategic priorities, support a highly skilled team, and nurture our strong relationships across schools, families, and the wider music education sector.
We Are Looking For a Head Of Service Who
* Brings substantial experience of leading in music or arts education settings, at a senior or service-wide level.
* Creates a positive and empowering working culture where staff feel valued, supported, and motivated.
* Has the confidence to lead an independent organisation, balancing a not-for-profit ethos with satisfying shareholders, whilst also complying with Arts Council statutory requirements.
* Is financially astute, innovative in approach, and skilled in building collaborative, purposeful partnerships.
* Is a visible and passionate advocate for the power of music in young people’s lives.
The successful candidate will be joining Bury Music Service at an exciting point in its development, with strong partnerships creating new and meaningful opportunities for change.
