We are seeking an NCTJ-qualified or equivalent experienced journalist to join our team.
Role Description
The digital journalist writes daily news content for our three specialist B2B legal publications:
Today’s Conveyancer, Today’s Family Lawyer and Today’s Wills and Probate. Reporting directly to
the managing editor, the journalist’s role is to inform, educate and influence each sector, bringing
the stories that affect our readers to their desktops and inboxes. The digital journalist is also
responsible for optimising the news, features and images on each website to ensure visibility and
accessibility, while monitoring daily output to ensure our content remains engaging and relevant.
We are an outcomes-based business. The typical outcomes of this role are:
* Writing relevant, topical news of a high standard to engage and inform our readers.
* Monitoring developments within each sector to ensure our coverage remains topical and relevant.
* Proactively identifying news stories, following up leads and seeking comment from relevant sources.
* Sharing the information and insight that impacts our readers’ roles and the wider legal sector in a way that meets our editorial objectives.
* Monitoring all editorial output to ensure it is visible, accessible and engages our readers.
* Reporting on the results of the monitoring activity to inform editorial planning.
* Building and maintaining relationships with readers and contributors to encourage engagement.
