Responsibilities
The day time work will involve covering the labour ward and / or gynaecology ward as per the on call rota at Conquest hospital. There are also daytime session as per the weekly rota covering the maternity day assessment unit, assisting in theatre, covering clinics which include antenatal clinic, general gynaecology clinic and urgent suspected cancer clinics. These can be on either site.
On call and shifts
On calls out of hours include long days and night duty as per the rolling on call rota. These are based at conquest hospital.
The doctor appointed to the post is expected to work cross site. The postholder will work a shift system with an on call frequency of 1:10 and the night shifts are split into 2 and 3 nights and this may change in the future to 2 and 2 nights with the rest of the nights covered by residential consultants.
